Project Import's benefits to the following projects:

  • Projects for the installation of mechanized food grain handling systems and pallet racking systems in ‘mandis’ and warehouses for food grains and sugar
  • Cold storage, cold room (including for farm level pre-cooling) or industrial projects for preservation, storage or processing of agricultural, apiary, horticultural,aquatic & marine produce and meat
  • Effect: All goods related to Food Processing imported as part of the project imports, irrespective of their tariff classiöcation, are entitled to uniform assessment at concessional basic customs duty of 5%
  • Full exemption from customs duty to refrigeration units required for the manufacture of refrigerated vans or trucks.
  • Concessional customs duty of 5% to speciöed agricultural machinery not manufactured in India
  • 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) will be allowed in the sector for the companies for marketing and manufacturing of food products in India

Kurnool-based Ragamayuri Group has planned a mega food park and an electronic park with the centre of activity on Telangana-Andhra border. The core food park will come up at Putandoddi in Mahabubnagar District of Telangana, 35 km from here and the processing centres at Kurnool, Ranga Reddy, Anantapur and Kadapa.
